>About the Italian Dinner
Our club will hold its seventh annual Extravaganza Italiana, dinner auction, at the Cumberland Recreation Centre on Saturday, 1 October 2011. This event is our major fundraiser for 2011 - 2012. During our first six years of service to the community, businesses and individuals have generously donated goods and services for our auction and we are seeking your support this year.
Our club has grown to become a positive, well-recognized and respected force for good in the local and world communities. In 2005, we raised sufficient funds through our dinner auction to provide a thermal imaging camera for the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department. Since 2006, we provided ten automated, electronic defibrillators to organizations in the Comox Valley and in 2007, provided Cumberland with its first two transit shelters. From 2008 to 2010 we donated $30,000 to the Comox Valley Hospice Society Building Fund. We have worked to bring clean water and education to people in Africa, and helped people in India and Mexico become self sufficient.
Our focus this year is the continuation of community projects supporting local schools and youth, Cumberland Lodge, Comox Valley Hospice and many others. You may also visit us on Facebook!
